The Regional Economic Development Association is co-hosting “Vote With Your Remote” on December 3, 2009 at 5:30pm in the UTEP Union Cinema. Vote With Your Remote, an initiative started by Time Warner Cable and Villescas Research, Media, and Instuction, is a local competition aimed to promote the talent and work of local filmmakers.
The event will discuss the importance of the creative sector’s role in economic development and will announce and showcase the winners of the competition. There will be one winner for five different categories, including feature length films, documentary films, short films, and music videos. All winning films will be screened at the event.
The event is free and open to the general public. Before the event presentation, there will be a networking mixer for film producers and other artists. Food and refreshments will be provided.
