The Regional Economic Development Association is preparing the relaunch of its successful student e-magazine, the Regional Identity.
Although an outdated Regional Identity, Ri for short, can still be accessed today, REDA is currently working on a redesign, new content, the integration of a new content management system (CMS) WordPress, a marketing plan with Professor Dalila Salazar, a potential partnership with the UTEP Communications Department, and various other structural changes.
The new Ri will be aim to:
- Serve as a forum for the discussion of regional issues with the aim of advancing student civic engagement and activism.
- Publish high quality student articles in a quick and consistent manner. The articles will include research reports, journalistic news pieces, editorials, and interviews.
- Promote Hispanic journalism and art.
Last semester, the Ri published over 30 articles and attracted over 3,000 unique visitors.
If you are interested in contributing to the Ri, email rcsapien@miners.utep.edu. The Ri is set to launch sometime in early November.

Huge developments coming soon.
