Business students: Join the Regional Economic Development Association to discuss the role of the College of Business and UTEP in shaping El Paso’s future.

REDA will discuss its Spring trip to Phoenix, AZ and will discuss the progress of El Paso’s 2015 Downtown Plan. Students will then discuss different topics, including downtown revitalization, UTEP and Tier1 status, El Paso marketing and tourism, and the “regional identity.”

The forum’s objective is to start discussion within the CoBA student body and establish a plan for action to address the issues discussed.

Spring-Summer 2010, Digital Divide Research in Texas Border Counties
Currently seeking collaborators in El Paso, Zavala, Zapata, and Cameron counties to elaborate a research initiative designed to bridge the digital divide for families and students residing in Texas border communities.

Spring-Summer 2010, the 2010 Border Expatriate Study
After studying the responses of over 1,600 former residents of  El Paso county, VRMI will be conducting a study of current expatriate from border communities in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona,  and California.
2010 high school graduates, currently enrolled undergraduate/ graduate students, and professionals are encouraged to participate as well as to share their visions regarding the future of the border and their likelihood of returning to their home towns.

A free new book will be provided to each child who attends the event, along with other free goodies. The event also includes live entertainment, families activities, and special guests. Free parking and shuttle available at the Coliseum.

Conference will feature an informational session  ongoing throughout the day. Housing counselors from local housing agencies will be on hand to provide assistance, as well as other experts in the field. Information will be available in English and Spanish.
